Create Your MyEBSCO STARsmart Digital Library Card
Your MyEBSCO account is your personal STARsmart Digital Library Card. You'll use the same MyEBSCO User ID and password to access Medical Library resources on your computer and mobile devices.
Click the button to open the MyEBSCO account form. It opens in a window beside these instructions, so you can follow along.
Then, in the form that opens:
- Enter your first and last name. Use your new @SalinasValleyHealth.com email address as your User ID.
- Create a password for your MyEBSCO account. DO NOT use your Salinas Valley Health network password.
- Click Show Password to make sure you entered it correctly. Write down your MyEBSCO User ID and password. You'll need them again in the next step and for your mobile apps.
- Check I consent, then click Create Account.

Save your MyEBSCO User ID and password. You'll use them again in the next step and to sign in to your mobile apps.
- At least 6 characters
- Upper and lowercase letters
- At least one number
- A special character, like ! # or @ (spaces don't count)
- Doesn't include your email
- Before continuing, use Show Password to make sure you entered your new password correctly. Passwords are case-sensitive.
Connect Your MyEBSCO Account to Salinas Valley Health
Now connect your new MyEBSCO account to Salinas Valley Health. You only need to do this once. You'll do this through Dynamic Health, Salinas Valley Health's Nursing and Allied Health point-of-care resource, available through the Medical Library.
Click the button to open Dynamic Health. It opens in a window beside these instructions, so you can follow along.
Then, in Dynamic Health:
- Click the person icon in the upper-right corner, then click Sign In.
- Sign in using the MyEBSCO User ID and password you created in Step 1.
- Once you're signed in, your initials appear in the upper-right corner where the person icon was. That confirms your MyEBSCO account is connected to Salinas Valley Health.
Download the EBSCO Mobile App
The EBSCO Mobile App puts STARsmart, your Medical Library, on your phone.
- Download and open the EBSCO Mobile App.
- Tap Access with your institution.
- Select Salinas Valley Health, then tap Connect.
- Tap Continue when prompted for ebsco.zone.
- Sign in with your MyEBSCO STARsmart Digital Library Card User ID and password.
Download the Dynamic Health App
Dynamic Health gives you evidence-based nursing skills, procedures, and other point-of-care clinical information on your phone.
- Download and open the Dynamic Health App.
- Tap Sign In, then Continue when prompted. Use your MyEBSCO account to sign in. Do not select Institutional Network.
- Sign in with your MyEBSCO STARsmart Digital Library Card User ID and password.
- When asked what content to install, choose Light Install (recommended) or Full Install.
- Allow or decline notifications. It's your choice.
